Pipe manufacturer Rehau North America has sold its Prescott, Ontario plant to Quebec-based Brunet Concrete Group.

The sale was effective Dec. 31. Financial details have not been disclosed.

According to reports in the Brockville Recorder & Times, the plant will be Brunet’s first PVC pipe operation, and will continue producing small-diameter PVC pipe for Rehau’s Proloc specialty industrial products line.

Leesburg, Va.-based Rehau briefly shuttered the plant in 2008 but reopened it the next year to supply Brunet.

According to the Brockville paper, Brunet plans to increase production to pre-closure levels within the next four years.

Founded in 1948, Rehau employs approximately 15,000 workers in 170 locations around the world.
