Who leads CAD/CAM market?

Mastercam CAD/CAM software ranks first in installed seats worldwide, according to the most recent analysis of NC software vendors by CIMdata Inc. (Ann Arbor, MI). Produced by CNC Software Inc., Mastercam has 74,000 installed seats globally, in both industrial and educational markets. This represents 13.6% of the global market.
PTC, EDS PLM Solutions and IBM/Dassault Systmes are the next most widely installed products, according to the CIMdata report.
Measured by dollar volume of sales and services, EDS PLM Solutions ranks first in the CIMdata survey. If revenue through resellers and partners is added into the mix, IBM/Dassault Systmes comes out on top with its CATIA products.
Open Mind, a German firm, was named the most rapidly growing vendor among significant NC software suppliers.
