Wentworth Technologies buys German moldmaker (June 21, 2002)

Precision moldmaker LEGO Werkzeugbau GmbH joins 16 other mold manufacturing and service facilities worldwide owned by Wentworth Technologies Co. Ltd., based in Mississauga, ON.
The Germany facility began as a captive tool shop for LEGO Co. of Denmark, manufacturer of LEGO brand children’s toys. Under LEGO management, it has developed into an advanced precision moldmaking operation, with highly qualified, stable staff and an extensive apprenticeship program.
Wentworth has renamed the acquired company AMTEC GmbH Advance Mould Technologies.
AMTEC will continue to concentrate on molds for LEGO Co. and other customers in the medical, telecommunications, electronics and computer industries. Wentworth plans to expand the new company’s capacity and capabilities to serve new customers.
