Walmart forcing shift to PP thermoformed trays

Walmart has required suppliers to switch from expanded polystyrene to polypropylene for meat packaging, according to a report on plastmart.com. Walmart studied various types of packaging and found that PP could be converted into deeper trays than EPS. Polypropylene also showed greater cold temperature crack resistance.
Walmart is the top Fortune 500 company with sales of more than US$250 billion.
