U.S. economy continues to grow

The economy south of the border continued to grow during September and October, sparked by increased business spending, improved manufacturing activity and the addition of over 300,000 jobs. Despite high energy costs, which remain a concern to the U.S. Federal Reserve, consumer spending was relatively strong, and sales of new homes rose 3.5% during this period.
Core capital goods orders climbed 2.6%, suggesting that business investment remained robust, according to economists.
