The Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) has sold its headquarters building in Brookfield, Conn. and is moving into a smaller office in nearby Newtown, Conn.
SPE announced earlier this year that they wanted to sell their headquarters – which they’ve occupied since 1980 – as a cost-cutting move. The organization has also laid off staff members, and reduced the amount of dues money rebated to sections and divisions.
The move is scheduled to be complete by June 29.
SPE will rent the new building, which measures 3,700 square feet, compared to the 13,000-square-foot facility in Brookfield.
