The successful format of Plast-Ex 2001 will continue for the 2004 event, organizers stated at the space draw on Oct. 7. The Canadian Plastics Industry Association, which owns Plast-Ex, has paired up with the Society of Engineers Ontario section to provide breakfast seminars and lunch-and-learn sessions throughout the show. The concept of theme days will continue, with automotive, packaging, construction and productivity improvement/lean manufacturing on the agenda.
Plast-Ex runs from May 3 to 6, 2004, at the International Centre in Toronto.Ruth Simon has joined the show management team, replacing Patricia Ferguson as show co-ordinator.
Faris Shammas of CPIA told attendees at the space draw the industry has shown 4% growth in the first seven months of this year. Total plastics industry shipments in 2002 were $44 billion, including plastic products, machinery, molds and resins.
