Ryka purchased by machine OEM

SIG Plastics International, a manufacturer of blow molding machines and equipment, has purchased Ryka Blow Molds Ltd. located in Mississauga, ON. Terms of the sale, completed Oct. 10, were not announced.
In a press release, SIG said the purchase will strengthen its position as a supplier of complete PET and extrusion blow molding systems to the beverage, personal care, pharmaceutical and household products industries.
Ryka president Mike Ryan said details of the sale were worked on over a period of months by both companies. He said the purchase was in keeping with SIG’s strategy to improve market share in North America.
"We (Ryka) have a 30-year reputation in this business and a good strong base of people," says Ryan. Ryan will remain president at Ryka, which will maintain its name as a division of SIG.
