Royal Window Coverings sells N. American retail, contractor divisions (October 23, 2006)

Polyvinyl chloride extruder Royal Window Coverings (RWC) will cease operations of the North American retail and U.S. contractor segments of its business, the company announced.
RWC will sell its Houston, Tx., and Coral Springs Fla., manufacturing facilities and consolidate window covering components production for its fabricator and other customers into its Montreal, Que. facility.
The company will continue to operate its existing distribution centres in Coral Springs, Fla., and Irvine, Calif.
The manufacturing facilities to be sold will be purchased by Springs Window Fashion, based in Madison, Wis., RWC said.
RWC supplies fabricators and other customers with extruded vertical, horizontal and valance window covering components.
