Plastique Micron adds IPL veteran to management team

Sainte-Claire, Que.-based plastic bottle manufacturer Plastique Micron Inc. has appointed Serge Metivier to the position of director of sales and marketing and Yves Fournier to production manager, the company announced.
Metivier had been with Quebec-based injection molder and extruder IPL Inc. since 1988, rising to director of IPL’s packaging division.
Fournier had worked as production manager at Montreal-based acrylic bathtub manufacturer Bain Magique, and as director of quality control for Quebec wire and cable manufacturer Pirelli Cables & Systems Inc.
“The addition of these respected managers(is) integral to our development plan,” Bernard Poitras, president of Plastique Micron, said. The company plans to launch a new sales and marketing program to increase its profile within North America, he added.
Plastique Micron manufacturers plastic bottles for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and personal care industries. The company employs approximately 185 people.
