The Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. (SPI) has appointed Gene Sanders as vice president of trade shows. Sanders replaces Walt Bishop, who is now vice president of SPIs Equipment Council.

Pittsburg, Pa.-based resin supplier Bayer MaterialScience (BMS) has made a series of appointments. Don Hummel has been named head of BMS Coatings, Adhesives and Sealants (CAS) global product management; John Houston has been appointed head of BMS CAS marketing/business development in the NAFTA region; and Haakan Jonsson has been named to lead BMS NAFTA regional service centre.

Former chief economist Jayson Myers has been named the president of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters.
