Baltimore, Md.-based Novatec Inc. has started construction on a technology centre where it plans to test and rate every type of drying systems, the company announced June 19, the first day of the National Plastics Exhibition (NPE) 2006 in Chicago, Ill.
This new Drying Technology Center will allow processors to compare alternative types of dryers in regards to energy efficiency and drying speed, the firm said.
According to Novatec’s President and CEO, Conrad M. Bessemer, there is no similar facility in existence, either at competing auxiliary equipment companies or in the technical centres of resin suppliers.
