Nova Chemicals has introduced a new group of premium octene copolymer PE resins for film applications, including food and specialty packaging, laminations and co-extrusions and heavy-duty shipping sacks. Called SCLAIR ASTute TM FP120, the resins are fully commercial and currently consist of five grades each with unique performance properties.
These new octene copolymer LLDPE grades are the first commercially available film resins produced using Nova Chemicals’ Advanced Sclairtech technology at its new PE production facility in Joffre, Alberta. The new ASTute resins have densities of 0.920 g/cm3 and melt indexes of 1.0 g/10 min.
"We’re pleased not only with the way these new grades have been received by our existing customers, but also with the way they have been generating outstanding interest with new customers," says Venessa Wilson, marketing manager, polyethylene film resins.
