In an effort to expand its North American customer base, Ningbo Haitian Machinery Co. Ltd. has signed Worcester, Mass.-based Absolute Machinery Corp. as its new North American sales and service partner.
As a result of the partnership, Absolute Machinery has formed a new organization, Absolute Haitian Corp., which will focus solely on selling and servicing Ningbo Haitian’s injection molding machinery to Canadian and U.S. customers.
Haitian has been selling its injection molding machinery to the Canadian market through its subsidiary Haitian Machinery Canada Co. Ltd. in Mississauga, Ont. since 1997. Although rumours have been circulating about the closure of this office, Canadian Plastics was unable to confirm these reports by press time.
And even though Haitian Canada’s phone lines and Web site are operational, Absolute Machinery said customers should instead direct all inquiries to Absolute Haitian.
Absolute Haitian Corp. will operate out of Absolute Machinery’s 25,000 sq. ft. facility in Worcester, and the firm plans to open new regional offices in Canada, the central U.S. and on the U.S. west coast.
The new organization’s management team includes Mike Ortolano and Nathan Smith, current co-owners of Absolute Machinery as well as Glen Frohring, former North American sales manager for the Demag Plastics Group.
