By combining operations, the companies will be able to increase their global footprint, allowing them to sell US$5 billion dollars of plastic and rubber polymers to over 28,000 manufacturers in 80 countries.
As part of the deal, Ravago will make an equity investment in Muehlstein, which includes their Channel Prime Alliance group and Pegasus Polymers units in Europe and Asia, according to Muehlstein.
Muehlstein Holding Corp. operates globally through several affiliated firms including H. Muehlstein & Co., Inc., Channel Prime Alliance LLC, Pegasus Polymers, Inc., Muehlstein International, Muehlstein Compounded Products and Trinity Specialty Compounding LLC.
Muehlstein Holding Corp.’s range of products include polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polybutadiene, SBR, engineering resins and specialty compounds, among others.
H. Muehlstein operates a Canadian office in Toronto, while Channel Prime Alliance sells to Canadian firms through its Oakville, Ont. location.
However, Muehlstein and the rest of the Ravago Holding companies will continue to operate as separate financial entities, the firm added. Ravago operates a Canadian subsidiary, Ravago Canada Inc., out of Burlington, Ont.
The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2006.
