Dusseldorf, Germany — SpecialChem, a free Internet service that provides processors with access to additives technical information, has added two large suppliers to its list of supporting companies. Baerlocher and Uniquema join Ciba Specialty Chemicals as companies partnering with SpecialChem to provide technical data and other information about their product lines.
Supplier partners pay a fee to list their materials; while processors subscribe to access the information. SpecialChem has over 6000 processors signed up for the service.
At present the SpecialChem site provides only additives information, it does not sell product, although links to supplier sites are being considered, according to statements from SpecialChem.
Ciba is offering information on its lines of antioxidants and UV light stabilizers, while Baerlocher is providing users with online expertise in metallic stearates. Uniquema is presenting information about its slip agents, antistatic agents and antifog agents.
