Montreal-based coatings maker Protech/Oxyplast Group acquires Chemionics Corp.

Montreal-based powder and liquid metal coatings supplier Protech/Oxyplast Group has purchased the business and manufacturing assets of compounder and materials supplier Chemionics Corp., headquartered in Tallmadge, Ohio.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Chemionics develops and manufactures specialty plastisol and latex formulations.

“Chemionics leading technology in Plastisol and Latex is a great addition to our global business,” David Ades, Protech’s president, said in a statement. “It fits nicely as it is complementary to our thermoplastics coatings product lines.”

Protech will maintain Chemionics’ manufacturing operations in Tallmadge.

Founded in 1974, Protech/Oxyplast operates more than twenty facilities worldwide.
