Mega Bloks changes name to Mega Brands Inc. (July 03, 2006)

Montreal-based toy block manufacturer Mega Bloks Inc. has changed its company name to Mega Brands Inc.
The decision was made by Mega Bloks’ shareholders at a meeting held on June 15.
“[Mega Bloks] has an exceptional portfolio of brands and creative activity products that appeal to preschoolers, boys, girls and families,” Marc Bertrand, president and CEO, said. “Mega Brands has an exciting future because our products are relevant to the needs of today’s children and families.”
The company recently announced a consolidated sales increase of 178 per cent to $81.5 million in first quarter 2006, up from $29.3 million for first quarter 2005.
In addition to its corporate headquarters in Montreal, Mega Brands has facilities in Belgium, England, Germany, France, Spain, Mexico and Australia, and sales distribution into over 100 countries worldwide.
