Two operating units of Aurora, Ont.-based Magna International Inc. — Cosma International and Decoma International — have received the General Motors 2007 Supplier of the Year award. The two units received their awards at a ceremony in Jacksonville, Fla. last month.

“We are proud to honor both Cosma and Decoma as Supplier of the Year winners in 2007,” said Bo Andersson, GM group vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. “These divisions received this honor for their outstanding performance and making a significant contribution the manufacturing of our world-class vehicles.”

Decoma International manufactures a range of plastic body, lighting and exterior trim systems, and also performs second stage vehicle assembly work for OEMs.

The GM Supplier of the Year award is a global program that began in 1992. Winners are selected by a team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics, and decisions are based on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price. GM recognized 92 suppliers for their performance this year.
