Macro hits business milestone

Blown film equipment supplier Macro Engineering & Technology, Inc. (Mississauga,ON) reached a business milestone late last year when it shipped its 2000th air ring. The unit, a D10 dual lip air ring, was sold to an Italian OEM of blown film equipment. Macro president Mark Planeta noted that the company was founded in 1978 as a supplier of dual lip air rings. At the time, equipment suppliers generaly only offered single lip air rings to processors.
"The industry desperately needed air rings that were easy to use, provided bubble stability and would increase line output," said Planeta.
Planeta said the company has made successive improvements to its original design, enhancing sales and the company’s reputation as one of the leaders in the air ring market around the world.
