Machinery distributor Anplast Inc., Anjou, Que., has been appointed representative for all of Canada for Kawaguchi injection molding machines. Kawaguchi machines have been sold in Canada for over thirty years by Mould-tek Industries Inc. of Toronto. Anplast has been the sub-representative for twenty years, providing sales and service for Kawaguchi in Quebec.

Anplast, which currently has six employees, plans to set up a sales and service organization in Ontario.

Kawaguchi Inc, headquartered in Shimizu, has two plants in Japan and manufactures small to medium sized (140-700 tons) hydraulic injection molding machines.

Lorne Berggren, the founder of Mould-tek, intends to retire from an active role in the plastics industry, although he will stay on as CEO of Berg Chilling, which he sold to his son Donald a few years ago. In June, Mould-tek’s M-Tek line of materials handling equipment was sold to Wittmann Canada. Yet to be decided is a new representative for Chen Hsong, the Chinese injection molding machinery manufacturer that Mould-tek started representing last year.
