Macchi is adding to its space-efficient, Coex-Flex group of 3-layer co-extrusion systems. Its new Size 6 platform consists of two 80 mm diameter extruders and one 100 mm diameter extruder, all on a single platform. The system at the K Show will be equipped with a 500 mm die capable of producing more than 900 kg/hr in a LDPE-based structure, and 700 to 750 kg/hr with more complex LLDPE structures. An innovative new screw design, as well as the development of a high capacity air ring, the C-max, gives processors the ability to increase the size of certain film structures by more than 50%, according to Macchi.
The system comes with the Bo Plus surface winder, which has new software for precise winding tension control on all versions, including contact, axial assist and gap wind. Automatic winding shaft extraction and replacement is integrated into the system. A line supervision system, Easy Control Plus, centralizes all extrusion parameters and permits certification of individual rolls, which can be archived for future quality control data analysis.
