Basell is adding a new polypropylene technology, Spherizone, to its polyolefin licensing portfolio. Spherizone utilizes a novel multi-zone circulating reactor. Basell says the process significantly expands polypropylene’s product capability for a range of applications with enhanced performance properties such as impact/stiffness balance and clarity. The technology also offers competitive capital and operating costs.
Basell’s joint venture business unit, Indelpro, plans to build a new 350 kt PP plant in Mexico based on Spherizone technology.
