Jarvela receives Canplast Award for Vinyl Council work

Another Canplast Award was presented to Janet Jarvela for her valuable contributions to CPIA’s Vinyl Council of Canada for the past five years. Jarvela is public policy communications manager with Dow Chemical Canada Inc.
She has been the Chair of the Vinyl Council’s Communications Committee and VCC Communications Program for four years. She has provided a balanced perspective and outstanding leadership regarding communications issues.
In 1998 Jarvela played a key role with the VCC during negotiations with Health Canada on the phthalate and toy issue. She remained in Ottawa for over a week working with Vinyl Council staff and the Crisis Team on this issue.
More recently, she made a significant contribution to the VCC’s first Progress Report on the Environmental Management Program.
