Saint-Damien, Que.-based injection molder IPL Inc. has signed a $10 million contract to produce components to be used in the manufacturing of heated hockey-skate blades.

According to IPL, the company will invest $1.3 in order to outfit an exclusive production and assembly area for the components in its Saint-Damien facility.

The three-year contract between IPL and Canadian firm Therma Blade Inc. calls for production to begin in mid-October, after a promotional plan to launch the product on October 16 at Torontos Hockey Hall of Fame.

This contract illustrates perfectly IPLs reputation in North America for innovation and know-how, said Serge Bragdon, IPLs president and CEO. We are proud to team up with strong business partners who recognize the value-added of our innovative technical solutions.
