Saint-Damien, Que.-based injection molder and extrusion manufacturer IPL Inc. has appointed three new vice presidents.
The company named Serge Mercier as vice president, operations; Gaston Lacasse as vice president, sales and marketing; and Marcel Riou as vice president, logistics and supply chain.
“These three appointments are part of our corporate strategy to enhance IPL’s leadership and profitability,” Serge Bragdon, IPL’s president and CEO, said. “The management team is pleased to be able to benefit from the know-how of these three seasoned managers, which will help IPL to accelerate its growth and strengthen its positioning in North America.”
The announcements are part of a transition that has seen several management shake-ups at IPL over the past few months.
In May, the company announced the departure of Frederic Cote, the firm’s vice-president of finance and administration, and chief financial officer. At the time, Bragdon said that changes in upper management were a part of the company’s efforts to streamline operations.
“We’re working on a cultural change; we’re working to make the organization more lean,” he told Canadian Plastics in May.
And in August, the company announced several senior management appointments, including Eric Doyon as vice president, finance and chief financial officer; Denis Pageau as vice president, research and development; and Pierre Fradette as vice president, human resources and communications.
Headquartered in Saint-Damien, Que., IPL employs more than 1,100 people in its four plants in Quebec and New Brunswick.
