A merchandising display featuring an innovative new plumbing system manufactured by IPEX was awarded first place at the Canadian Hardware and Building Materials Show in Toronto recently. The display featured Kitec, a flexible plastic and metal composite pipe designed for the consumer and construction industries. Kitec is a composite pipe consisting of plastic inner and outer walls bonded to an aluminum core. The pipe combines the strength of metal with the durability of plastic and is said to be successfully challenging the copper plumbing market.

“Kitec is the next step in the evolution of plumbing,” says Jacqueline Allen, marketing manager for HomeRite Products division of IPEX. “It’s quicker to install than copper, easy to bend and uses fewer fittings.”

A Kitec in-store display also won a first place award from the American Hardware Manufacturers Association in Chicago last year.
