Husky names former Electrolux head Jack Truong as new president, COO

The former president and CEO of Electrolux North America and executive vice president of AB Electrolux Group will take the helm of Bolton, Ont.-based Husky effective February 1, 2016.

Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd. has appointed the former head of Electrolux as its new president and chief operating officer.

Jack Truong, previously the president and CEO of Electrolux North America and executive vice president of AB Electrolux Group, will take the helm of Bolton, Ont.-based Husky effective February 1, 2016.

“This is an exciting day for Husky,” said Husky CEO John Galt. “Jack’s global multisector experience and history of delivering strong growth in a challenging environment are key attributes for this role. As we look to the future, Jack’s demonstrated ability to anticipate global market trends will be important to supporting our long-term growth objectives.”

Truong will have full oversight for the day-to-day operations of the business, Husky said, as well as leadership responsibility for executing on Husky’s strategy and priorities.

Prior to Electrolux, Truong had a 22-year career at 3M, where he held senior leadership roles throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Truong holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.

“Having spent much of my career in the consumer products sector, I am familiar with the role packaging plays in influencing purchasing decisions,” Truong said. “What I admire about Husky, and what excites me about joining the organization, is Husky’s strong global brand and commitment to innovation and quality. “
