Husky Injection Molding Systems, of Bolton, Ont., has reached a joint agreement with Pittsburgh, Pa.-based auxiliary supplier The Conair Group to provide complete manufacturing solutions for PET preform production.

According to the two companies, the global agreement will enable closer integration and joint development of the partners’ specific injection molding and plastics auxiliary equipment systems.

In particular, the companies will be looking to integrate Conair’s recently developed EnergySmart PET drying technology, which is claimed to provide optimal material conditioning, process control and energy efficiency.

“This relationship strengthens our ability to offer customers a complete, fully integrated solution where all the elements are optimized to work together,” said Jeffrey MacDonald, Husky’s vice president of beverage packaging.
