Custom molder and toolmaker Horn Plastics Inc. has completed construction of its new 90,000 sq. ft. facility in Whitby, ON on schedule and has begun the process of moving and consolidating the operations of its two older plants into the new building. Production operations are expected to begin in the new plant on Feb. 25, 2002. According to a company spokesman, the $6 million dollar investment, in a current challenging economic climate, represents a commitment to long-term growth for the company’s customers and 250 employees. The new plant will allow the company to be more efficient and flexible, company officials said at last year’s ground breaking ceremony. The plant will house all 40 of the company’s injection molding machines, ranging from 15- to 720-tons in clamping force. Horn manufactures components and assemblies for the business machine, automotive, medical and electronics markets.
