York, Penn.-based blow molder Graham Packaging Company has been chosen Supplier of the Year for 2005 by Miller Brewing Company.
Graham Packaging was selected for the award for its polyethylene terephthalate (PET) beer bottles, which are produced mainly at its plant in Rockwell, TX.
“Our people at the Rockwell plant went the extra mile to thoroughly embrace the goals and objectives of Miller Brewing Company,” Ralph Armstrong, Graham Packaging’s director of beer, wine and spirits packaging, said. “They excelled in every way, particularly in working through the recent conversion to the new 28 mm PET bottle we designed.”
The award, initiated in 1988, is given to one vendor each year; previous to their being selected in 2005, Graham Packaging had won a Miller Brewing Company Partners in Excellence award.
“Our Supplier of the Year award is chosen each spring based on high product quality and service, excellent customer service and a partnership approach to the business relationship,” said Jim Sheehy, vice president of procurement for Miller Brewing.
Graham Packaging is a global producer of customized blow molded plastic containers, with 87 plants throughout North America, South America and Europe. The company reported 2005 sales of $2.5 billion.
