A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official opening of The Canada Export Centre in Vancouver last week. The 17,000 sq. ft. facility is intended to provide Canadian exporters with a permanent showcase for their wares and services, and also give international business people a one-stop shop location to discover and initiate Canadian export opportunities.
"With Vancouver continuing to evolve into Canada’s portal to the world, The Canada Export’s opening is timely and important for Canadian exporters," said Mark Mensing, CEO of the Export Centre. "There are over 400 trade missions that come to Vancouver annually from around the world. We give them one location to go to, to learn about hundreds of business opportunities in Canada, not just a handful."
Mensing said the Centre is actively targeting the business traveler coming through the greater Vancouver area. He anticipates more than 85,000 qualified visitors to the Canada Export Centre in the first year.
