Engel to host symposium on medical molding

York, Pa.-based injection molding machinery manufacturer Engel North America will present a two-day technical symposium on new developments in medical injection molding. “Clean and Precise – We Make the Grade,” will take place on June 18 and 19 at the company’s North American headquarters in York.

“Production of medical products requires an injection molding operation that is fast, clean and highly efficient,” said the company.

Technical sessions will cover a wide range of issues impacting medical injection molding, such as FDA validation, controlled environments and clean rooms, mold making, microstructure molding, advanced processing and materials, medical automation and assembly.

Additionally, a wide range of the company’s equipment will be on display, including an e-victory 80/55 US with a Staubli robot and clean room packaging, producing lab-on-a-chip; an e-motion 330/110 US, molding a liquid silicone o-ring; and a speed 200 US running a 48 cavity syringe barrel mold.
