DuPont Canada has announced it will be selling its Vexar plastic netting operations to Masternet Ltd. of Mississauga, ON. Vexar is made at DuPont’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Liqui-Box Canada, in Whitby, ON. The deal closed on December 23 and all assets of the Vexar business will be relocated to Masternet during the first quarter of 2004.
Ash Sahi, president and CEO, Liqui-Box Canada stated: “Vexar is a small operation and is not a core component for our longer term growth plan. Liqui-Box Canada continues to focus on growing its Films and Liquid packaging operations.”
Vexar is an extruded. diamond-shaped plastic netting made of high-strength polyethylene and other polyolefins. It is used in a wide range of packaging, fencing and protective covering applications.
“We can now offer our customers an expanded range of netting solutions that will meet the requirements of virtually every possible application,” said Linda Duval, vice president, Masternet Ltd.
