E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Co. (Wilmington, DE) has completed the privatization of its subsidiary DuPont Canada Inc. At a special meeting in late July, shareholders voted to amalgamate DuPont Canada with DCI Acquisition, effectively transferring ownership of the amalgamated company to E.I. du Pont.
"Going forward, our company will continue to support the DuPont presence in Canada, but as a wholly-owned subsidiary of DuPont. We have every intention of continuing to build on and advance DuPont Canada’s rich legacy," said Doug Muzyka, president and CEO of DuPont Canada.
The privatization is part of an ongoing global DuPont transformation. DuPont announced plans last spring to spin off or sell its Textiles and Interiors business. This business segment comprises a substantial portion of DuPont Canada’s businesses and operations.
