Dow Automotive, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, has created a team of sales and application development experts to focus exclusively on the interests of manufacturers serving the commercial transportation markets.

According to Dow, the newly formed Commercial Transportation Group will provide solutions and technical expertise to both Tier and OEM customers, in an effort to help them solve technical issues that are driven by regulatory compliance and end-user preferences.

“Our commercial transportation customers have unique challenges, needs and opportunities,” said Dagmar van Heur, managing director of the Commercial Transportation Group at the Auburn Hills, Mich.-based Dow. “Our team will engage with customers during the earliest stages of product development to help develop solutions that achieve their specific goals. We have global representation and support that will allow us to provide quick and reliable responses.”

The Commercial Transportation Group will initially concentrate on the global bus and truck segments, van Heur continued, with a focus on solutions that provide improved vehicle durability, safety, emissions control and fuel efficiency. Target application areas include interior and exterior composite paneling, seating foams and components and Diesel Particulate Filters.
