Degussa AG announces management changes

Specialty chemical manufacturer Degussa AG (DAG) announced that Dr. Klaus Engel, currently managing director of Germany’s Brenntag Management GmbH, will assume the position as chairman of DAG’s management board beginning June 1, 2006.
Engel will replace DAG’s current management chairman Dr. Utz-Hellmuth Felcht, who will leave the Degussa organization.
DAG has also appointed Dr. Alfred Oberholz to the position of deputy chairman of its management board, effective May 1, 2006, replacing departing management board member Dr. Bernhard Hofmann.
DAG, headquartered in Dusseldorf, Germany, employs approximately 44,000 employees worldwide and had total 2005 sales of US$13.4 billion. The company’s Canadian office is located in Brampton, Ont.
