Decision on Oakville plant near

Ford Motor Company of Canada is close to reaching a decision on the fate of its Oakville, ON facility. Ford Canada CEO Alain Batty stated that the company is "not far away" from a decision on whether to transform the plant into a flexible assembly plant, according to a report published by Reuters. Flexible assembly operations allows automakers to build several models on the same assembly line, raising efficiency. Adoption of the plan depends on a number of factors, including Ford corporate approval and government incnetives.
