Madison Heights, Mich.-based D-M-E Company’s new distribution centre in Windsor, Ont. has allowed it to expand its same-day, no-charge delivery service for moldmakers in the region around the southern Ontario city.
“The Windsor area has one of the highest concentrations of moldmakers in the world, making it ideally suited for this kind of service,” Al Morrow, D-M-E’s Canadian regional manager, said.
D-M-E’s new distribution centre, located at 5360 Burke St., is stocking Class A commodity mold components. While D-M-E delivers components twice daily once in the morning and once in the evening customers can also pick up items between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. However, customers should continue to place orders through D-M-E’s Mississauga, Ont. office, the company said.
“We’re providing the standard mold components needed immediately for mold building or repair. We’ve structured our inventory for fast service, rather than full service. We carry the most frequently used, standard items needed by moldmakers,” Morrow added.
Some of these items include imperial and metric ejector pins and sleeves, imperial core pins, tapered interlocks, side interlocks, leader pins and bushings, locating rings, sprue bushings, springs and insulator sheets. Plus, cooling items such as brass pressure plugs, and Jiffy sockets, plugs and connectors are also available.
However, Morrow said D-M-E will continuously tool its stock at the Windsor facility based upon the frequency of user demand, and the full catalogue will be available on the firm’s Web site.
