A series of breakfast roundtable meetings have been organized by the Canadian Plastics Industry Association for the fall months, addressing topical issues such as strategic thinking re: China, electricity markets and partnerships.
The first meeting is Sept. 16 with Jim Hughes, manager, energy analysis, with Imperial Oil as the speaker. He will discuss the "Impact of Oil and Gas Increases on Canada’s Petrochemical Feedstocks."
"China: Strategic Thinking Needed" is the topic for Oct. 14, with Margaret Cornish, executive director of the China Canada Business Council, presenting.
On Nov. 18, the topic is "Ontario’s New Electricity Act and Options to Reduce Electricity Costs in Manufacturing". The speaker is Ian Graham, who is associated with NRGen and the University of Waterloo.
The final event is Dec. 2, featuring a presentation by the Honorable Joe Cordiano, Ontario’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade. His topic is "Forming Partnerships for Success in Ontario’s Future."
