Using funding secured through the Ontario Power Authority’s Conservation Fund, the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) is setting out to improve the processing sector’s cost competitiveness through energy efficiency improvements, with a focus on electricity.

The program consists of several measures designed to directly assist manufacturers in reducing their energy use and cost. The measures, many available at no cost to the site, hope to gain management commitment and drive implementation by focusing on management systems improvements and identifying low-cost and no-cost opportunities.

“An energy management team member will be contacting you in the coming months to set up a site visit to explain the program in more detail,” said the association. “As this is a pilot program there is a limited number of opportunities to participate.

More information about the program is available through Robert Mazzariol at the CPIA, who can be contacted at 905-678-7748 ext. 230, or by emailing rmazzariol@cpia.ca.
