Calgary window fabricator Gienow completes restructuring

Calgary, Alta.-based window and door manufacturer Gienow Group has completed a restructuring plan to help the company reduce its debt and improve its capital structure, according to a company news release.

The release noted that Boston-based Sankaty Advisors LLC, the credit affiliate of Bain Capital LLC, had “provided a substantial equity investment to consummate the restructuring.”  

Gienow Group is composed of Gienow WinDoor Ltd, Farley WinDoor Ltd, Award WinDoor and AWD WinDoor Ltd.

Gienow manufactures vinyl, aluminum, wood, and wood-clad windows, as well as steel and fiberglass doors.

Founded in 1947 the company currently employs 1,500 workers, and reports annual sales of between $100-$200 million.

In 2007, the company was named 2007 Energy Star Manufacturer of the Year by Natural Resources Canada for contributions toward improving energy efficiency and reducing green house gas emissions.
