The Plastics Place Inc. (TPP), a Calgary, Alta. plastic bags and flexible packaging manufacturer, has acquired Edmonton, Alta.-based Leeson Polyfilm Manufacturing Ltd.

Leeson is a plastic bag and sheet packaging manufacturer that has been serving a wide range of industry and retail segments from its Edmonton facility since 1982.

“Leeson’s long history and strong customer relationships parallels The Plastic Place’s market position in Southern Alberta,” said TPP president Bevan May in an official statement. “The combination now creates a stronger platform for reaching the entire province and beyond with a broad range of industrial packaging products.”

TPP has been in operation since 1969, and has integrated manufacturing, recycling, and administration operations in and around Edmonton, Bassano and Calgary. Many of the companys product lines are also made of recycled materials, and the company sells a wide range of recycled plastics including HDPE, LDPE, polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
