Bunting closes Canadian office

Canadians looking to buy a Bunting Magnetics Co. conveyor or conveyor system will have go through the firm’s office in Newton, Kan., after the company closed its Canadian office, in Toronto, last November.Mike Wilks, director of marketing and sales for Bunting Magnetics said the operation in Toronto was closed after the offices were flooded during a severe rainstorm in Toronto in August.”Water had come up through the floor and flooded the building,” Wilks added. “A lot of the inventory had to be basically discarded.”Because of the damage, Bunting Magnetics decided to move the conveyor manufacturing operation from Toronto to Newton. There are no plans to re-open the Toronto office.Bunting’s mold cleaning and maintenance chemical products business, which it took on in the acquisition of The New Moulders Supply Company Inc. and C.A.
