Buckhorn Inc. has recently launched a new line of shipping container for liquid chemicals and other bulk liquids. The container, called the Citadel, is designed to replace existing containers used to ship these products, such as steel cages, gaylords and corrugated boxes. According to Jim Morrison, Buckhorn Canada Inc. vice president and general manager, the containers are structural foam molded on a 1000-ton injection molding machine.
Morrison says the collapsible containers help save freight costs, compared with containers currently used. Also, when used with a plastic liner, the Citadel doesn’t need cleaning.
"This is a new line for us, so we’re still building a customer base for it," says Morrison. "We believe we have to continue to develop new product lines in order to stay ahead in this market."
