Bayer to acquire Polythane Systems Inc.

Pittsburgh, Pa.-based Bayer MaterialScience LLC is acquiring Spring, Texas-based Polythane Systems Inc. (SPI), a supplier of spray polyurethane foam roofing systems.
The value of the acquisition, which is to be completed by August 31, 2005, was not disclosed. Bayer MaterialScience will operate SPI through its wholly owned subsidiary BaySystems North America LLC, and will be retaining the PSI trade names, its employees and facilities. The acquisition includes PSI’s Everest Coatings Inc., a manufacturer of acrylic elastomeric coatings, polyurea, sealants and primers.
