Amcor completes purchase of rival’s PET business

Amcor Ltd. has completed the acquisition of Schmalbach-Lubeca’s PET container and White Cap closure business. With the purchase, Amcor becomes the global number one producer of PET products and a top-five manufacturer of closures. Terms of the agreement were not announced.
Amcor has a significant presence in Canada through its divisions, Amcor PET Packaging North America and Amcor Twinpak North America Inc., with manufacturing plants across Canada.
