Plastics technology provider The Woodbridge Group has entered into a technical agreement with Italian polyurethane (PU) foam maker Toscana Gomma that will allow Woodbridge to have access to PU technology for skin solutions.

Plastics technology provider The Woodbridge Group has entered into a technical agreement with Italian polyurethane (PU) foam maker Toscana Gomma that will allow Woodbridge to have access to PU technology for skin solutions.

According to a press release, Mississauga, Ont.-based Woodbridge will market the technology under the tradename “Woodbridge DecoSkin”. The company claims the product will provide a non-porous PU outer layer with a low density PU core, and is intended for applications like automotive head restraints, armrests and steering wheels, as well as product for other markets.  

A supplier to original equipment manufacturers and Tier 1 auto system suppliers, Toscana Gomma is a subsidiary of the Italian Olmo Group, and has been manufacturing slab and molded flexible PU foams for over 40 years.
