The deal involves Vintech taking over Rehau's manufacturing site in Jevíčko, Czech Republic.

Rehau Automotive has sold its European sealing and extrusion business – which is based out of its site in Jevíčko, Czech Republic – to U.S.-based automotive parts supplier Vintech Industries Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

In a statement, Rehau officials said the sale comes after the company decided, in 2020, “to exit this business area”. Following this decision, the statement continued, Rehau “has not sought new orders and has concentrated production at the Jevíčko facility. The sale to Vintech marks the culmination of this strategic realignment.”

Vintech is headquartered in Detroit, and employs approximately 500 people and operates manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Mexico, Portugal, and China. “The Czech site perfectly complements our European production network, offering us even more opportunities,” Vintech president and CEO Jim Schoonover said.

Vintech develops, manufactures, and supplies extrusion, co-extrusion, injection molding, and roll-formed functional and design parts (Class-A) to more than 150 customers worldwide.

Business responsibility for the Jevíčko site is scheduled to transfer to Vintech on Sept. 1, the statement said.
