Canadian auto parts supplier Magna International Inc. has received the 2015 General Motors Supplier of the Year award for driveline, lighting and mirrors.
In a statement, Aurora, Ont.-based Magna described itself as General Motors’ largest supplier. In the areas of driveline, lighting and mirrors, Magna supplies GM with 4WD systems which help improve performance and fuel efficiency, as well as its Trailer Tow outside mirror with ReverseLight, which helps pickup-truck drivers stay safe while towing.
The GM Supplier of the Year award began as a global program in 1992. Winning suppliers were chosen by a global team of GM purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and logistics executives and selected based on performance criteria in Product Purchasing, Indirect Purchasing, Customer Care and Aftersales, and Logistics.
The 24th annual awards were given during ceremonies on March 10, 2016, in Detroit, Mich.
